We are a small municipality with high ambitions, where the gap between thought and action is minimal. We have always been an enterprising community and that spirit carries on to this day. We notice that many young people, homecomers and newcomers start business in the municipality.

We are 4 200 inhabitants and approximately 650 active businesses. It’s truly incredible!

Most of our businesses are small businesses where the entrepreneurs have created the reality they desire. The sectors in which our businesses operate vary greatly, they can be within tourism, food production, transportation, manufacturing, handcraft, creative and cultural industries, sales and contracting. In our municipality, we strive to recognize and encourage both small and large businesses because they all contribute to our society in different ways.

One of our competitive advantages is the reasonable rents for commercial spaces which allow entrepreneurs to build up their businesses without excessive expenses.

The proximity to Finland is a great advantage for many business owners in terms of customers, exports, transports and expertise.
